It is to get GMRS started in the area as ham is, but the fact family can use GMRS also is very attractive. I am in search for a better higher location. I also auto id every 15 minutes with or without traffic for advertising of the repeater for a while until everyone gets used to its location. I am dually licensed having many ham radios also.the tip of the gpn-nc transmit antenna is a little over 60ft and 30 or so ft away from the receiver antenna of the exact same model.
