Becoming a RepeaterBook admin is a significant responsibility. If you are considering signing up, it’s essential to understand the commitment involved. The following are reasons **NOT** to apply for an admin role:

  * You want to update **only your own repeaters**.
  * You have a **small list of repeaters** you want to manage.

For these cases, it’s better to:
  - Use the repeater submission modules provided on the site.
  - Email your list to an existing admin for processing.

===== Core Responsibilities =====

Admins must be willing to dedicate time and effort to managing all repeaters in their assigned area. This includes:

  - **Processing Requests**:
    * Manage repeater edit requests.
    * Handle repeater add requests.
    * Review and respond to repeater reviews and comments.

  - **Research and Verification**:
    * Gather information from repeater owners, trustees, users, coordination entities, websites, and publications.
    * Personally verify the operational status of repeaters.

  - **Community Engagement**:
    * Regularly monitor and engage with repeaters and nets in your area.
    * Promote the site within your local amateur radio community.
    * Recommend repeaters for travelers using the **Route Module**.

  - **Technical Testing**:
    * Test features such as searches, maps, and exports to ensure they function correctly in your area.

  - **Database Maintenance**:
    * Ensure every repeater is rechecked at least once every two years.
    * Keep the database as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

1. **Timely Updates**:
   - Handle all user-submitted requests to add or edit a repeater **within two days**, with same-day processing as the preferred standard.

2. **Availability**:
   - Be prepared to provide regular updates at least once per week. High-traffic areas may require daily updates.
   - If your availability or interest changes, be willing to resign or take a leave of absence.

3. **Commitment to Accuracy**:
   - The success of RepeaterBook depends on accurate and timely data. Slow updates discourage users from submitting corrections or new data.
