The Vacancy Search currently supports the following states and provinces:

===== How to Use the Vacancy Search =====

To perform a Vacancy Search, follow these steps:

1. **Enter Location**:
   - Provide the nearest city and state/province for the proposed repeater location.
   - Alternatively, use **GPS coordinates** in decimal format.

2. **Select State/Province**:
   - Choose the state or province where the repeater will be located. This selection will apply the appropriate band plan and repeater list for the area.

3. **Choose Band**:
   - Specify the band on which the repeater will operate.

===== Understanding Search Results =====

The search will return all repeaters assigned to allocated channels within the entire state or province. Here’s how to interpret the results:

  - **No Assignments Found**:  
    If no repeater is found on a particular channel, the channel will be marked as **"No Assignments Found."**

  - **Expand Results**:  
    Click the **"Expand"** link to search for repeaters:
    - Within 200 km of the proposed location (crossing state/provincial boundaries if necessary).
    - On channels within 20 MHz of the band plan (non-standard channels).

  - **Active Repeaters on Non-Standard Channels**:  
    Some active repeaters may not follow the standard band plan channel assignments. The expanded results will include these repeaters.
